A Few of Our Fav Must-Visit Places in Snohomish

Snohomish is a town after my heart. Lyndsay and I went to high school here, we met our husbands here, and now are raising our kiddos here too! Growing up it had always been a dream of ours to have a store right on 1st St, and now we not only have our amazing Real Estate business but our storefront too! However, if you are not from Snohomish, or even if you are, let me let you in on some of our favorite places!

First, a little background,

The Snohomish Historic District is a 26-block area in the town, including one of my favorite places – First Street. Snohomish is considered one of the oldest and most well-preserved cities in the county and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You’ll not only take note of the beautiful historic brick buildings and original features that line First Street but will find family businesses packed with years of history.

According to the Seattle Herald, in 1884 Snohomish had somewhere around 700 residents, a courthouse, a lumber mill, one school building, six saloons, and one church. Snohomish is said to now have somewhere over 10,000 residents, an estimated 70,000 visitors annually, and is packed full of incredible small businesses! There is seriously nothing I love more than watching our community grow and small businesses thrive.

If you’re looking to spend a day in Snohomish and to support local, look no further! There’s no better place to stroll in and out of antique shops and boutiques and walk along the river with the family. I promise you’ll fall in love with the historical character and charm like I have!

With this list of just a few of our favorite businesses downtown, you’ll be able to start your morning with a coffee, squeeze in a cut and color, and end with a frozen treat!

Looking Glass Coffee, 801 1st St — Lyndsay & Leslie’s Pick

If you’ve seen Unsellable Houses you know I always have a coffee in my hand. It’s been quite the joke! There is seriously no better way to start the morning (or to jump-start your afternoon, who am I kidding!!) than with hot coffee.

(Throwback to cold PNW mornings! #hotcoffeeallyearlong)

Looking Glass Coffee ,“The Living Room of Snohomish”, is the one of most unique coffee shops with the friendliest staff, the most delicious breakfast sandwiches, mini-waffles, bagels, and just overall good vibes!

Lyndsay’s Order: 16 oz. Americano with Honey & Almond Milk Hot

Leslie’s Order: 16 oz. Americano with Two Raw Sugars Hot

If you have time, have a seat and enjoy one of their comfy Victorian-inspired couches, free-Wifi, and the occasional live music! It’s the perfect spot to go over plans for our upcoming listings, catch up with our clients or just take a breather.

Christa’s Sandwichboard, 1206 1st St — Leslie’s Pick

One of my favorite spots in Snohomish for a quick lunch is Christa’s Sandwichboard!

With over 60 years of combined experience, the team at Christa’s is passionate about creating delicious dishes and it shows! Christa’s is home to their famous “Four Napkin Sandwich” if that doesn’t paint the picture for the size of your meal! They start you off with pickles and peppers before your meal, I mean what’s there to complain about? But seriously they have the best sandwiches, soup, salads, and Charcuterie around.

My personal favorite is the BMT (Basil, Mozzarella & Tomato with Pesto!) served warm with a side of pasta salad. Carb overload, but it’s worth it. That’s why I have my Peloton… right? Right. If you’re feeling up to it, I would also highly recommend trying the Bloody Mary if you’re in the mood!

Come for the food and stay for the staff that provides top-notch service every time.

Flaxen & Ash Hair Studio, 127 Ave A — Lyndsay & Leslie’s Pick

Flaxen & Ash is one of the few businesses located in what once was the Firehouse! Just one of the many ones that Snohomish continues to grow while maintaining its original features.

Okay, the girls at Flaxen & Ash made us feel so beautiful and confident, they are total lifesavers! I worked with Jenny, who specializes in blonde, and Lyndsay worked with Ashley. They both made sure we had a great experience from start to finish.

The vibe of the salon is incredible and you might even see a few pieces from Lamb + Co there! We will definitely be back in 6-8 weeks to stay fresh for filming!

Don’t forget to mention our code “TWINS” when you schedule your first appointment at the salon to receive $50 off a cut and color or $25 off a cut at your first visit! Schedule a treat-yourself day with one of our girls HERE!

The Oxford Saloon, 913 1st St — Lyndsay’s Pick

If you’re looking for a place to grab a tasty burger, fries, and a cocktail, you have to visit The Oxford Saloon. You’ll always feel right at home at The Oxford. It is a great place to play a few rounds of pool downstairs or catch some of the live entertainment that they have most nights! Check out their calendar HERE for events.

I definitely suggest starting with the Jalapeno Poppers or Mac n’ Cheese for the table, trying one of their burgers (my fav is the Oxford!), and capping the meal off with a banana ring!

Fun Fact: The Oxford was built in 1890 as a grocery store, then was used as the Oxford Pool House during the Prohibition and wasn’t actually used as a Saloon until after World War II. There are some interesting stories surrounding The Oxford and the town legend has it that there may be some friendly ghosts wandering around!

Joyworks, 1002 1st St — Lyndsay’s Pick

Joyworks is a family-owned business with a wide selection of vintage-inspired home decor, clothing, paper goods, and other exciting items. Joyworks is part boutique, part home decor, and a little bit of everything in between.

Our favorite part of the store is the clothing section. Lynds and I frequent their clothing section for the cutest clothes, shoes, and accessories that we wear on the daily and especially during filming!

You can find Snohomish branded clothing here too, which makes it perfect to remember your day of adventures!

This store is massive. Downstairs you’ll find even more home decor styled perfectly together, room after room. You’re guaranteed to find something you’ll love, no matter your vibe!

Top It Yogurt Shoppe, 801 1st St — Lyndsay & Leslie’s Pick

WHO DOESN’T LOVE FROYO??? The family and I frequent Top It Frozen Yogurt Shoppe when we are craving something sweet. They usually have 8 flavors “on tap” and over 40 toppings.

Plus they always have gluten-free, vegan, and nut-free flavors and toppings available, so everyone can enjoy it!

We love that Top It is a family-owned shop that prides themselves on reducing their carbon footprint by offering paperless receipt options and 100% biodegradable cups, spoons, and waffle cone sleeves so not only does it taste good but we feel good while doing it!

Since this is one of my kiddos’ favorite places, Cole and Jacob met me a few days ago at the office and we walked down to grab a bowl of delicious frozen yogurt. We all go crazy for caramel on our froyo!

And we can’t forget… Lamb & Co Storefront, 801 1st St

When we opened our doors to Lamb & Co Storefront in August of 2020 we had NO idea that we would outgrow the space so quickly. Which is why we MOVED…. down the street, 485 feet down the road to be exact.

Our new Storefront at 801 1st St (right under Top It, actually!) is much more spacious and now has four times the inventory!!!

With all the extra room we have now we love that we can provide you with a much wider variety of custom, hand-selected items, and give you all the unsellable decor items!

We cannot thank you all enough for your continued support over the last year and can’t wait to keep providing you the best selection of home decor, furniture, clothing, and who knows what might be next!

We also wanted to thank everyone who came out to our Grand Opening event a few weeks back! We had a chance to meet a lot of great people, locals, and some people who traveled from all over the country to come to support us in this new chapter! It means the world to us.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest to keep up to date on all things Lamb + Co, and check out our online shop to browse our favorite items!

Xo,

Les
