Present-day Modern Transformation

For this episode, we ventured into our first split-level we are doing for the show. The most challenging part about a split-level entry home is that most buyers will write off these homes before ever seeing them. They assume the layout isn’t what they are looking for and move on. Fair enough!

We knew going into this project that it was going to need stand out features to draw the buyer in to take a look. We look a couple days to brainstorm unique ways to do this without breaking our budget within a first time home buyer price point.

The unique wood design we did above the fireplace was the highlight of this renovation for me.  It was inexpensive to create but gave the dated fireplace the modern/contemporary update it needed to appeal to the buyer and transform the look of the living room. It’s an easy DIY project I feel any homeowner could do! We used 2019 Color of the Year—Peacock Blue to bring in that pretty pop of color.

I was inspired to have bold colors but clean white lines so that everything really “popped” and felt fresh and new. Our ultimate goal was to sell as the highest price split level in the area and with our renovations, we did just that!

For this bedroom space, I really wanted to bring the colors we were using in the main living room and trickle them into the master suite. With the help of Greenhouse Home we were also able to pair the gorgeous peacock blue bed frame that matched the rest of the theme perfectly!
