Jason Bateman Buys Ernest Borgnine’s Home

Just for fun and because Jason Bateman is one of my favorite actors I thought I would share from an article I read on Zillow today.    Jason-bateman_imdb-b9fd8b-150x150

Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka, recently spent $3 million on a new home for the family. The Beverly Hills compound was owned by actor Ernest Borgnine, who passed away in 2012 and owned the home for 60 years. Borgnine’s residence was listed for $3.395 million in late September 2012.

Like most celebrity properties, the big feature of the home is its immense privacy. The house is situated on a knoll above Mulholland Drive with a gated entrance and large motor court. It’s this privacy that attracted Borgnine, as well as a number of other stars who attended gatherings there.

The estate was built in 1938.  The 6,148-square-foot home sits on a half-acre lot with an additional 1-bedroom guesthouse with a full living room and kitchen.

The interior of the 6-bedroom house remains unchanged from Borgnine’s near lifetime in the home. Details include a formal entry hall with grand staircase, large master suite with his and her baths and dressing rooms, a study, paneled library, office, den and formal dining room.

Bateman and his wife have two children. Best known for his comedic role in the television show “Arrested Development.”
