Rock the Block

Rock The Block: Finale!

Host Ty Pennington introduces episode 6.

We really can’t believe that Rock the Block is over! This experience was one that we will never forget and we feel so fortunate to have been chosen as one of the four teams who had gotten to compete. Even though we did not come away as the winners, we truly feel like the skills that we learned and the friendships that we acquired made us victorious in the end!

When we first came on to the block we knew that we wanted to really embrace all that Charleston had to offer. Right away we learned the importance of entertainment and knew that we wanted to make that a point of focus in our home. You can see us really embrace the entertainment aspect through the sweet tea station, theater room, and  the emphasis on outdoor living including the oyster oven.

As seen on HGTV’s Rock the Block, team Lyndsay and Leslie.

We also learned how important the historical element of Charleston was, and wanted to bring in some of the historical aspects to the home. We included a fireplace mantel that was from 1813! We also used historical colors from the area like the living room accent wall.

As seen on HGTV’s Rock the Block, team Lyndsay and Leslie.

Of course, we also brought in our PNW and Twin Win charm! We love using wallpaper, wood, and mixing tiles! Throughout the entire competition we had the location of Charleston in mind, but we still wanted to stay true to how we design, and our personal style and flare! Yes, that does also mean that our staging came along with us, and we love how it turned out!

End Results-

We want to give a huge shout out to all of the people who made this experience possible! HGTV had an amazing crew, and getting to work with a new group of people was so much fun!

Our amazing partnerships-

Art:

We  had the opportunity to work with an incredible artist from our area, Gabis of Art by Gabis. Unique artwork adds so much to a space, and the kitchen is no exception!

Flooring:

We used Homestead Flooring’s JetCore XL in Country Retreat to add the warmth we were looking for. LVP flooring is much more cost-effective than hardwood, but it is a little more durable and still super stylish! Website linked here.
