Holiday

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve! Or Happy Christmas Eve? Is it merry or happy? I am not sure. Either way, it is Christmas Eve! We are so thankful for each and every one of you, and we hope that you all are enjoying the holiday season with the ones you love most! For Lyndsay and myself, that means some well-deserved family time!

We thought it would be fun to share each of our favorite holiday traditions with you and one of our go-to Christmas Breakfasts!

Leslie Holiday Tradition-

To be honest, my family’s favorite holiday tradition is one that I have never heard of anyone else doing, but it has become one of the highlights of the season for my boys and me. The tradition is inflatable holiday lawn décor. Yep, like the giant sort of obnoxious blow-up ones. I LOVE THEM. Not only that, but the boys and I get such a kick out of picking out the perfect one depending on the year, and in our home, the bigger and cheesier the better!

Lyndsay Holiday Tradition-

I don’t know if this is my favorite holiday tradition, but it is definitely one that I look forward to, and that is wrapping presents! I know this is not very many people’s favorite holiday tradition, or even something that many look forward to, but I love it! I try to set aside a day where I lay out all of my wrapping paper, grab a cup of cocoa (or, let’s be real, a cup of coffee), put on my cozy Christmas jammies, and either Christmas music or a holiday movie! NO ONE is allowed in the room during this time, and I set to work! I love getting to look back through the gifts that I had purchased for my loved ones, and I imagine their faces lighting up when they finally get to open up their gifts! I am definitely a believer in giving is better than receiving, but I still like presents!

Holiday Recipe-

Christmas morning is a staple in most households, and ours is no exception! I love waking up early, watching the boys open all of their gifts, and snuggling with my pup, but before anyone makes it out of their beds, I sneak into the kitchen and throw in the breakfast casserole that I made the night before. It is so easy, delicious, and I love that I don’t have any extra work in the morning! Plus, it fills our home with amazing smells!

One dozen eggs
One small package of hash browns
One pkg bacon
One package diced ham
One tube sausage
I cup cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and spray the bottom of a 13×9 pan

Cook bacon and sausage, drain off on paper towels, crumble and set aside

Beat eggs in a bowl and season as you would scrambled eggs

Put a layer of hash browns in the bottom of the pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper

Sprinkle all meat on top of hash browns

Pour egg mixture on top

Cover and cook for 45 min or until set. Remove cover and add cheese then cook uncovered for 15 min or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and let set for 10-15 minutes
