Just in time for spring cleaning, I am providing you with 8 ideas to help you maximize storage in your kitchen.
- Customize your pantry: You can maximize your benefit by customizing your pantry to fit your needs. Think vertically and make the best of this space by adding custom shelving, drawers, & baskets.
- Add a pot rail or pot rack: These are LIFEsavers. Get those pans out of the unorganized stack in your cupboards and up hanging above your center island. If you don’t have the open ceiling space for the pot rack, you could instead hang pot rails on an empty wall in the kitchen. This frees up a lot of your cupboard & cabinet space for other goods.
- Use magnetic strips for knives: An easy add & removes the heavy knife block from your kitchen counter. Place the magnetic knife strip beneath your cabinets or above your range, & voila! This style is totally in right now & adds a modern touch to your kitchen.
- Sink storage for sponges & cleaners: With cleverly hidden hinges and a nice stainless tray, you can easily create out-of-sight storage for wet sponges & brushes using false-front storage under your sink.
- Add dividers to your drawers: There are so many great customizable pieces you can add to your drawers to organize silverwave, baking tools, and any other kitchen gadgets you may have. Pro Tip: Turn one of your more shallow drawers into an easy “grab ‘n go” spice drawer.
- Practical dish drawers: Make great use of your base drawers and add pegs around surrounding your dishes. This makes for easier lifting & frees up more space in your cabinets. Make sure to use sturdy slides that will hold up to 250 pounds. The weight of all those dishes can add up quick.
- Island storage: Easily bring style & functionality to your kitchen island by adding pieces like curved cradles for wine storage, extra drawers, cabinets, or baskets.
Lastly….
- Get rid of the non-essentials: Chances are you have an apple peeler, a potato peeler, an apple slicer, etc….all these things take up lots of unnecessary space. Focus on tools that can do multiple things rather than only one.
Happy cleaning!
